BSc (Hons) Interactive Media Design

The BSc (Hons) Interactive Media Design deals with the new creative opportunities that are arising as a result of interactive digital technologies. The aim is to produce graduates who have a thorough knowledge of the design, authoring and delivery of interactive media based on a human-centred design process.

You will gain an in-depth knowledge of Interaction Design and Narrative techniques alongside practical skills in 2D and 3D Animation, Sound and Video enabling you to produce interactive products such as DVDS, games, websites and responsive environments. You will gain skills in the area of Physical Computing, bringing machines out of their boxes and incorporating them in the world around us.

The tools used in the course are industry standard packages: The Adobe production and design Creative Suites, which includes Flash for 2D animation, Premiere and After Effects for Video production and post-production; Autodesk Maya and MotionBuilder for the 3D work (we are an Autodesk Authorised Training Centre for Maya); Protools for Sound Production and Sound Design. This course is aimed at aspiring digital media practitioners involved in the production of content, from DVD to mobile phones, games to interactive TV. As a graduate, you will have knowledge and skills in the whole spectrum of digital media, and mastery in at least one specific area. You will become a specialist in the area of your choice thanks to:

  • The Choice of advanced classes in your specialist area.
  • The completion of group and individual projects in your specialist area.
